“I would start with every one of us who thinks we aren’t worthy of love, just as we are”
-Meggan Watterson
From mind to spirit
your soul is waiting …
Originally from South Africa, I now live in Oxford with my family (husband, two teenagers and dog). My Spiritual Journey started accidently, with me being somewhat reluctant, somewhat sceptical, yet curious and wanting to explore and know more.
I had done various business degrees (up to Masters level) and had been working in Finance and IT, but it wasn’t until after the birth of my first child that I found the motivation to change. Or I should say that I was presented with an invitation to change. I had been taking my eldest for cranial osteopathy when the Osteopath (Cissi Williams) suggested that I do her Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) course. I had no idea what it was all about, and it only took me 2 years to decide to do it (have I mentioned I had a tendency to procrastinate…..???)
The course was amazing and the training enabled me to understand how the mind works, how we can change our thoughts and perceptions, and that we always have a choice about how we want to react to events. Also, to stop judging as we all do our best with the resources we have.
Some years after qualifying as a Master Practitioner in NLP (and after nearly 1000 hours of further training) I qualified as a Master Practitioner and Teacher in Energy Medicine, Mysticism and Shamanic Healing with the Nordic Light School of Energy Medicine.
It’s hard to put into a few words all the things that I have learned and experienced over these years of training and working with Energy Medicine. To describe how it has opened up a whole new world to me, and to try and explain how it can be weird, wonderful, magical and so, so powerful, all at the same time! It’s often hard to see the change in ourselves, but having also assisted on the course, I have seen the transformation and change in so many others, that I have been humbled by the power and impact of it all.
It has been amazing to experience and witness the journey: the connection with Spirit, discovering that ancient eternal wisdom, the light and dark within… And then, noticing the dance we do between trusting ALL OF THAT, surrendering and letting Spirit lead then giving in to the doubts/fear/control/anxiety/playing small (whatever it is we do when we forget our true selves).
Of course, I am still doing this dance on a daily basis, some days more with Spirit, some days more with “ego”.
